The railway underpass was dim. There were some railway underpasses in Yurakucho. Every underpass was dim. And I thought the dimness made the place decadent. The bars doing business there looked like a bar in the poor quarter of the town. Yet the place was in the heart of the big city in a practical sense. The drink money was not so cheap.
When I entered into one of the railway underpasses, a waitress was working at the shop front.
