When the light turns green, the pedestrian crosswalks on Shinjuku Street are immediately filled with pedestrians. One after another, pedestrians appeared and crossed the pedestrian crossing as if they were sprouting from somewhere. It was raining lightly, so many people were holding umbrellas. But that was only until the light turned red.

When the light changes, the situation changes completely and no one crosses. Even if there is no car coming, no one wants to cross the street. Even stray cats may be waiting for the signal. I guess Japanese people like to follow the established rules to the letter.
