The long-distance bus I took from Yangon stopped at the side of the road. But I hadn't arrived at the city of Pyay, which I was aiming for. The stop was just a meal break. When I got off the bus, a group of boys came up to the bus. The boy in this photo was one of them. He was holding a pink basket full of boiled quail eggs. This boy was selling boiled quail eggs to the passengers of the long-distance bus. It's a common snack in Myanmar.

But what am I supposed to do if I only buy boiled quail eggs? Do I eat them with salt, like I do with boiled chicken eggs? Looking at the locals, I saw that they peeled off the shells as if they were peeling off the silver paper of Hershey's Kisses chocolate, and ate them without putting any salt on them. In Myanmar, many people eat quail eggs easily as a snack.
