Entering the site of Changgyeong Palace, a wooden gate appeared in front of me. It was Myeongjeongmun gate. During I watched the gate from a distance, a woman putting an umbrella up appeared and walked toward the gate.
The nameplate written in Chinese characters was hung on it like other architectures in the palace. Until the end of the Joseon Dynasty, Chinese characters were used in official documents in the Korean Peninsula.
These nameplates are very useful for tourists. It makes easy to know what it is and where I am.
