Many old men were seen in the park. They played Korean chess called Janggi there. This park seemed to be a place for retired men to play Janggi. An elder man in this photo was one of them. He sat on the ground in a park and faced a wooden board put in front of him.

The board used for Janggi was different from the board used for Japanese chess called Shogi and very similar to the board used for Chinese chess called Xiangqi. I didn't know the difference. Anyway, it is considered the common ancestor of these games is Chaturanga, an ancient Indian strategy game.

After the old man in this photo had thought for a while, he made a move. I couldn't know whether it was a clever move or not.
