The lane was flanked by the shops
There were many shops not only in the main street but also in the alleyways. The shops were also side by side in this alley. Their signboards were written in English along with Sinhalese language.
Although this country was once colonized by the British, not many people spoke English. I wondered whether it was a kind of fashion. Yet the locals didn't seem to think about that. They walked the alleyway without watching the signboards.
