The sun was going down and it was time for the kids to go home
The four boys were playing with a kite in the street. There were many blank spaces in the town of Muang Sing so they might not be badly-off for flying kites. They could fly a kite to the top of their bent.
Yet because it was already late afternoon, they stopped playing and seemed to be on the way to their home. It took a long time to reach their home because they walked in languid pace. Perhaps they got a reprimand by their mothers.
