Barrels of sake were lined up by the wall of the Hie Shrine in Nagatacho. They were dedicated by various sake breweries, and not only from Tokyo. Well, it's not like there are that many sake breweries in Tokyo, so that's not surprising.

Although there are some sake-hating gods in the world, Japanese gods are generally sake lovers. The custom of offering sake to shrines has existed since ancient times, and the Engishiki, compiled in the mid-Heian period (794-1185), includes a reference to sake. Even so, it must be difficult to handle such a large amount of sake. In reality, however, it is probably drunk by shrine workers and Ujiko (shrine parishioners) as a drop-off.
