When the traffic light changed, a lot of people were crossing the crosswalk in front of the Sangedatsu-mon Gate

The big red gate in the background is the Sangedatsu-mon Gate of Zojo-ji Temple in Shiba. In front of the gate is Hibiya Street, a national highway with a crosswalk. Even though the other side of the gate is a sanctuary, this side of the gate is this world. As soon as the traffic light changed, I saw many people in suits and school uniforms crossing the street. The people in suits were probably at work. Not all the people coming and going in front of the gate were returning from visiting Zojo-ji.

The large Sangedatsu-mon gate was built in 1622 and is designated as an important cultural property of Japan. Fortunately, it was not destroyed during the air raids on Tokyo during World War II, and it still stands proudly facing Hibiya Street.
