The man smiled at the camera, distracted from his work
The market I came to in Kolkata was crowded with people. Many of them were there to buy what was on sale, and many of them were working in the market. The market is not very mechanized, and most of the work is done by hand, so there are many men working in the market.
The man in the photo with the towel around his neck was one of the market workers. When he noticed my camera, he looked at it and smiled, distracted from his work. The man's job was to unload the truckload of fruit and carry it to the auction site. He carries them in a large basket on his head. In the background of the smiling man was another worker holding the basket.
