A train just arrived and the platform was seen between the train and the roof

The Chuo Line train stopped at Ochanomizu Station, and people were getting on and off the train cars. As I looked at the platform from the top of the Hijiri-bashi Bridge that spanned the station, I could see people getting off the train between the train and the roof. It was not crowded since it was not the morning commuting time. I was expecting to see a lot of people getting on and off the train, so I was disappointed.

The commuter rush on the Chuo Line must be so intense that I was exhausted before I even started work. So I did some research and found out that the Chuo Line rapid train between Nakano and Shinjuku is indeed one of the most congested lines in Japan, with a congestion rate of 182%. However, the area between Shinjuku and Tokyo Station did not seem to be so crowded and was not at the top of the ranking. Many people seem to get off at Shinjuku or change trains.

Incidentally, the top ranking in 2018 was the section between Kiba and Monzennakacho on the Tokyo Metro Tozai Line. Its congestion rate is 199%. This means that there are twice as many passengers as there is capacity. It's scary.
