A mausoleum built by the Mughal emperor for his wife still remains in Aurangabad. When I think of a mausoleum built by an emperor for his wife, the Taj Mahal, which is registered as a World Heritage Site, comes to mind. Here, Bibi Ka Maqbara is a mausoleum built by Aurangzeb, the third son of Shah Jahan who built the Taj Mahal and the next emperor, for his wife Dilras Banu Begum. Incidentally, it was designed by Ata-ullah, the son of Ustad Ahmad Lahori who designed the Taj Mahal.

Although it is the same tomb that was built for the beloved queen, there is a considerable difference in its prestige. It seems that Aurangzeb tried to build it to compete with his father's Taj Mahal, but due to lack of funds, he could not make it so luxurious. For this reason, some people call it the "Taj of the poor".

There was no water in the long fountain that stretched in front of the tomb. People were strolling along the side of the waterless fountain. I've never been to the Taj Mahal, but it certainly looks a bit plain. The number of visitors must be far fewer than the original. It was just perfect for a leisurely stroll.
