That day was different from usual. Many lanterns were hung in front of the gate which was called 'Hozomon'. The time of the festival was coming. The names of people who donated money to the temple were written on each lantern. Watching the lanterns, I became looking forward to the festival.

The lantern has a long history in Japan. It was mentioned in the old book called Choyagunsai written in the Heian period.
