The man looked sideways
A man with stubble was sitting and relaxing on the side of the road in Nasik. He wasn't doing anything in particular; he looked bored. In India, it's common to find men who look bored on the side of the road, but in Nashik, which is one of the pilgrimage sites for Hindu, there seem to be more men looking bored on the side of the road than in any other town.
When I pointed my camera at the bored-looking man, he twisted his head slightly and looked at the lens with a sidelong glance. He seemed a little surprised to be pointed by me, but he posed a little pretentiously for the photo. For a man with nothing else to do, communicating with a gentile who appeared out of nowhere through a camera must have been a great way to pass the time.
