A large number of Hindu pilgrims come to Nasik to bathe. This is because there is a holy place here. The bathing place is located on the Godavari River that flows through the town. The area around the bathing place, called Ramkund, is crowded with pilgrims.

I wondered what the Hindus were hoping for when they came to such a place. Although the religions are different, I don't think there is much difference in what they wish for in Japan and India. I guess they wish for the health of their family, safety on the road, love, good luck in their work, and so on.

I don't know what they are wishing for, but the adults are bathing with serious faces. Looking at them alone, I can understand why this place is called a holy place on par with Varanasi. However, this is only one aspect of Ramkund. I was intrigued to see children happily swimming in the river beside adults who were earnestly bathing. I feel that the depths of Hinduism are such that even a holy place can become a mere playground for children.
