The locals crossed the disused railway bridge
An iron bridge was spanned over the river Tehuantepec. It had been used as a railway bridge. Yet the railway had been a discontinued line. And people walk on it nowadays. Rail transport in this country had faced stiff competition from other transports and was defeated.
