A few hours northward, the bus departing Yangon for Pyay stopped at a town for a meal break. It was a small town, the name of which I do not know now. I got off the bus as the other passengers did, and one after another, they disappeared into the restaurants that had been built along the side of the main road. I quickly entered the diner as well.

Amidst all this, children were beginning to gather around the bus. These children were peddlers who were looking for passengers who had come on the long-distance bus. Each child had a basket with boiled quail eggs inside. They were planning to sell quail eggs to the bus passengers.

In Myanmar, it is customary to eat boiled quail eggs as a snack. I also like quail eggs on top of Chinese rice bowls and Babaocai, but I don't want to eat a lot of quail eggs because there are only a few of them. The boys came to me to sell quail eggs, but I was not very interested in them.
