Too many lanterns were hung at the entrance of Meiji Jingu Shrine to count

A great number of lanterns were hung at the entrance to Meiji Shrine near Harajuku Station, literally on the main approach. The festival season is approaching. I wondered how many lanterns were hung here. It was a spectacular sight to see so many lanterns lined up in a row. Each lantern has the name of the donor written on it.

Because the festival is a large-scale event, there are many supporters. Not only individual names, but also many corporate names. If the number of donors continues to increase, I fear that the precincts of the temple will be overflowing with lanterns. Well, that might be fun.
