As I walked through Intramuros, I saw the cupola of the Manila Cathedral at the end of the road. The exterior of the majestic Roman Catholic cathedral was black and dingy, and at first glance, it looked quite historic. It made me think that it might have been built during the Spanish occupation.

In fact, it was founded in 1571 during the Spanish colonial period, but the cathedral was destroyed during World War II. The present building was rebuilt in the neo-Romanesque style after the war. You can see the Celtic cross on the roof.
