It was the rainy season in Sri Lanka, so even in Kandy there were heavy showers every day. It seemed that an evening shower was also coming that day, and as I walked around the town, the rain started to fall in drops. There was nothing I could do once the rain started. All I could do was to find a place with a roof and get out of the way before it started raining again.

In such weather, female students on their way home from school were waiting for the bus with umbrellas. They were wearing the same uniform, so they must be students from the same school. Mixed with the female students, there were also some mothers standing there who had probably come to pick her up. Everyone was waiting for the bus with nervous anticipation, wondering whether the bus would come first or whether it would start pouring.
