One boy did not want his picture taken and tried to run away whenever he could
The people in the alleys seemed to enjoy having their pictures taken. Most of the people I met looked happy to see me as I walked through the alleys I wandered through in Kandy. The boys in the photo were local boys I met in such an alley.
When I pointed my camera at the two boys standing in the doorway of the house in the alley and looking at me, one boy looked at me with a bewildered look on his face, but the other one didn't like it. The boy, forced by his mother to stand in front of the camera, looked as if he wanted to run away. He seemed to be frightened of the unknown foreigner.
