Korakuen Garden in Okayama is one of the three most famous gardens in Japan. The other two are Kairakuen in Mito and Kenrokuen in Kanazawa.

The garden, created in the 17th century, is beautiful. A small stream flowed as I walked along a path that stretched through the lawn. Despite the peaceful atmosphere of the garden, it is a very winding stream, and a stone lantern stands beside the winding stream. It is a very impressive sight. This spot is called "Kyokusui," as the name implies, and I had unexpectedly arrived at a famous spot in the garden. I stopped, and there was no one around me. I was alone for a while, enjoying the view.

Surprisingly, the garden was called "Gokoen" instead of "Korakuen" until 1871 when it was opened to the public.
