Shot in Byodo-in, a Buddhist temple in Uji. The Phoenix Hall, completed in 1053, is the exemplar of Fujiwara Amida halls. It is designated as a Japanese national treasure and also listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site as part of the 'Historic Monuments of Ancient Kyoto'.
