This is a very strong photo. Very simple in composition, but still movement and the tetsu style. The umbrella really makes the shot. Nicely done!

nice work testu.
Love the contrast of the white umbrella! I like the geometric kimono pattern as well :) It matches nicely with the squares of the sidewalk and of the Sudare blinds at the top. (is sudare the right word?)
This image does have a different feel from your other images and like this one more then your other recent umbrella image because there is space for her to walk into. I like the moment and small elements including the geometric kimono that works with the sidewalk. I do wish the face and upper torso area was dodged on the front side a bit to bring out more detail beneath the umbrella and give more seperation and impact. There is a nice highlight on the thigh and a dodge to match would be ideal.
I like the composition of this photo with the use of negative space at the top and the contrast of the lady with her umbrella against the dark background.
This is a great photo. The contrast between the umbrella, background, and woman is striking. The slight morion of her hind foot adds a lot of dimension to the image.
Lovely capture. :)
I like the capture of movement and how the bright umbrella contrasts against the dark background. Well done!
Wow - very impressive. A different mood from your other photos. I like this a lot.
I like her traditonal clothes!!
Beautiful B/W photography!
Great Comps!
Sometimes a bit too dark to my liking though..
Need to crank up the shadows a bit here and there...maybe..?
Hey, I put you on my Links list...and bookmarked you at Photoblogs, org.
Cheers!
Beautiful picture. I remember seeing women dressed like that when I went to Gion a few years ago during spring. It's such a beautiful place.
In my limited opinion this apppears to be a very traditional image of a Japanese woman. Beautiful shot.
I love the umbrella and its creases!

Hey Tetsu-san! This is one of real Japan photography.
A perfect composition and a fine example of tone control. Plus, of course, the unique Tetsu human interest!
Very nice capture :-). The white umbrella against the dark background ... just a perfect scene!
