This photo really lives up to the name of your blog. A man in a box.

> tetsu said : Sep 18, 2006 18:21

Thanks Pfong!!
Hehehe. Though it looks like a box, these are a series of gates. :-)

Ah, lurking again; waiting for someone to come along so you can get another great (and well timed) shot!

@Pfong: Boxman hehe :-) Very well noticed!
I love this unique style you have, focussing on a small object in the distance.

great, very unusual, like it.

That's cool - minimalistic and pinpoint focussed!

> Jonathan said : Sep 19, 2006 01:46

Great perspective and framing.

> Jamie said : Sep 19, 2006 04:57

Nice. I'm having a little trouble with the perspective.. looks like one hell of a steep set of stairs. Unusual composition - quite striking.

I love the depth on this one! and then this dark silhouette at the very end surrounded by highlights! really nicely captured!

> tetsu said : Sep 19, 2006 20:52

Thanks Micki, Kris, Hechicera, Jazzy, Anton, Jonathan, Jamie and ChriZ!!
These gateways are suitable for the entrance to the shrine, I guess. :-)

> nathalie said : Sep 19, 2006 21:06

I love the shot but I would have loved a few more details about where it is and what it is that we are seeing?
Very interesting photo anyway

> tetsu said : Sep 19, 2006 21:13

Thanks Nathalie!!
This stairway lead to HIE-JINJYA shrine. And the stairway is covered with many Torii, the gateways, so ot looks like a tunnel. :-)

> JoeCow said : Sep 20, 2006 04:26

Wow, great composition!

> Joe said : Sep 20, 2006 04:36

I really believe this an excellent perspective. I believe the details that you provided are all we really need. Thank you very much for sharing this photograph...probably my favorite of yours.

I've been scouting around your site. I got here from your comment on mine. Thank you, by the way. This one, among many, caught my eye! Great work. Very inspiring. Makes me want to go out and shoot. And visit your country.
