ahh...the techie people of Japan. interesting that you chose to blur the foreground (the 'space-eater' as i call it)and focus more on the second guy. :)
When I see a scene like this, I don't konw what to think. It could be a good thing that folks can now step away from their desks and get out into the sun to do some of their work. Or, are they before/after hours and still working (and do they really need to be?) Or worse, are they out and just ignoring all around them and lost in their cyberworld? How well do we notice one another any more when we go out? These thoughts are too deep for a Friday morning. Anyway, whatever they were doing, it's a GREAT shot of our present time. Excellent capture!
A cool juxtaposition. i also like the shallow DoF. Only wish the two people in the distance were not there. That'd simplify the image and make it even stronger. :)
Interesting scene... this is a really nice b/w street, done by a photographer that gives to the scene a new meaning with his particular look at...
And this discovered meaning is something that any street photographer should always try to have.
Sorry for my english :)
Nice job, I get you on bookmarks on photoblogs.org, ciao

これは面白い写真ですね。ノートパソコンを使っている人は一人右側ではっきりと的をしぼって、左側のはちょっとピンボケでバランスがいいと思う。きれいですね。
An excellent picture clearly showing the Tetsu fingerprint!
I agree with Kris. Great composition.

yes, the foreground blur is interesting. i've to try this once. doing some work in a chillout place is controversal too. a great picture of opposites.
Cool shot, really nicely done with the figures at different depths throughout the shot.
I see the zigzag sight path into the pool of light circled by stones. It can only be a Tetsu shot. It does not happen here. Wonderful.
it's a sad sight - people still feeling the pressure to work even in an area to relax!

Good perspective !!
I agree with the people above; great compostion Tetsu! very good use of the "DOF". The zigzag does it for me :)
Great capture.
This is great! Looks like a classic stock image of the Japanese sarariiman, unable to leave work even for a minute. :)
Incredible framing and composition, and you've managed to keep the contrast between light and dark just perfect.

All japanese citizen are workaholic except me. :-P
I like the composition and arrangement of the people; holds the eye and makes you explore the image.
Lovely capture.
What Micki said really drives home the point about the modern world in which we live in....
Captures the modern times and the techie people so perfectly well!
Great shot!
Agree with Micki 100%, great capture and lovely dof!

That's how I'd like my office. In fact I'm almost outside here in my new office at home. Far better than an air conditioned box!

Hi Tetsu,
here I really like the composition.

Great shot.
