Wow wow wow. Despite a magenta colour cast which doesn't quite agree with me, i simply love the "continental" feeling of it. A glass of Bacardi rum i happen to be drinking right now and i toast for this shot of yours. かんぱい! :)
Since I was born in Eastern Europe this does bring back a lot of memories. Love the composition. The shadow of the man is just perfect. I would probably have reduced the magenta color cast a tiny bit (it adds to the atmosphere to the pic so I would not want to remove it completely).
Am I seeing colour? just kidding - this is a great image Tetsu, almost romantic! cheers :)

Thanks PlasticTV, Ella and David!
This shot is the one of my archives. I traveled Eastern Europe about 5 years ago. Knowing that magenda color is too strong, I choiced to post in the true colors.
another great moment.. wonderful side lighting brings out the mood and the conversation the 2 old folks are engaged in pulled me in.. but i have somethin abt the color cast like wat plastictv have pointed out too.. ha, juz my preferance.. ;p
I love these framework shots onto which i can hang my own story. There are so many possibilities in this one, it is delightful. Even the odd colour doesnt detract for me but makes it look as if it is from an old family album from 1959.

Thanks Keith!
The color of this photo reminds nostalgic feelings indeed....
I love this shot for the simple reason that after watching an American show--Get Smart--for several years when I was younger, the guy in the picture has the exact same profile and dress as one of "secret" agents on the show. Wait, there is another reason, of course, that I like the photo and, as noted before, an intimate meeting or discussion.

Thanks Amande, Wilson, Siri, Gavin, Jbuhler and Johnh!!!
I found following things when I compiled your opinions.
The man with the hat was an agent of KGB and stayed in Lisbon to achieve his task. Unfortunately, he was photographed by me in 50's. :-P
Lovely scene. I agree with what everyone said, especially the "Get Smart" connection! :) But I don't think the purple cast effect the image at all. Very nicely captured.
I love this image, what a touching and moving picture. It reminds me of my father and how gentlemman he was to my mother. Thanks for sharing it with me.

My great grandparents were born in Romania, so I was immediately drawn to this photo. A land I wish to visit some day.
Thanks Micki!
People in Romania were very kind to me. And of course, Romania is a birth place of Dracula, isn't it?. :-)

Such a peaceful and calm scenerey, i like it.

Fine composition. I dont know if the magenta dominant is an accident or not, but I like it.

Thanks Roberman and Ali!
I feel relief at your comment. :-)

color picture after a while! tetsu, Is there a reason you chose to do this in color..
Thanks Samcam!
There are no reasons. After scaning the film, the photo has this color.
i like the simple scene here, the colour and the long shadow. very nice.
Thanks David!
I like this picture : that makes me think of old movies :)
Vintage time. If you didn't say it was photographed this century, I would have not known.
Oh my. It looks the old Lisbon. eheh
Great candid shot. Love the purple cast on it, adds alot of mood.
Very nice! I actually like the color cast, it gives it an old c41 look.

Really nice image, the tones give it a 60s-70s feel that fits really well.
Looks very familiar and very east european. Did you visit other places in Romania too ?
Thanks Tad, Zbjernak, GCK, Manuel and George!!
I visited also Sibiu, Bucarest, Sighisoara.
