Another amazing image Tetsu. Truly lovely clouds. Great silhouette really contrasts well against the clouds, harsh and soft.

> Photo Phil said : Mar 20, 2006 01:31

thx for stopping by, and very cool b&w drama effect! was it really a stormy cloud or just part of the scene?

> tetsu said : Mar 20, 2006 01:44

Thanks GeckoZ, Tobias and Photo Phil!!
Yes. Though it was a really stormy cloud, I use R1 filter to emphasis the contrast.

> Amande said : Mar 20, 2006 02:27

Beautiful and frightening at the same time : I love it :)

> jasp said : Mar 20, 2006 03:13

I used a B/W film. So I have only B/W version.

> Tereasa Neilson-Trevor said : Mar 20, 2006 07:19

Wow, Tetsu, this reminds me of so many walks through the Japanese landscape. Its not how the west want to imagine it, full of temples and people in kimonos.
For me it is filled with buildings and people and that sort of thing.
What is interesting is that in this picture, the nature has triumphed over man made structure. The sky has opened up in all of its glory, and technology seems so small, insignificant, as if we humans are ants.
It is also very moody, the weather. It doesnt take a lot of looking around recent world events to know the weather is more powerful than technology, and the kinda creepy feeling of that possibility is there in the clouds, waiting.
On the other hand, so is the sun, light and bright and happy.
For all these reasons, its a great photo for me.
Misete moraimashita wa arigatou gozaimashita.

i'm a sucker for beautiful skies so all i can say is ............beautiful.

> Matt said : Mar 20, 2006 09:40

very eerie sky, especially against the power lines.

> Slackie Onassis said : Mar 20, 2006 10:50

Reminds me of many Rust Belt towns in the United States. Cloudy, bleak, industrial. The sky is full of portents!

> huimin said : Mar 20, 2006 12:32

what poetry clouds!!

> tetsu said : Mar 20, 2006 12:55

Thanks Tereasa, Asiko, Slackie and Humin!!
I wanted to express the cloud which wraps up the town. As Tereasa wrote, a human being is powerless for nature....

This is really one of the few B/W landscapes worthy, and it's very difficult to do B/W landscapes.

Thank you so much, Luisa!!
