Nice composition with a beatiful sky. But sometimes I think that your photo are a bit undersized. E.G. In this shot there are many details that I could better enjoy in a greater size version...
I am always amazed by looking at pictures like this one, where time seems to have passed by a place fairly unnoticed. Living in large German city this shot suggests such a different pace of life. The woman on the bike adds a nice sense of movement to an otherwise static scenery.
This is just wonderful! Many elements, the sky, the houses, the tree, the guy with the bicycle and the guy sitting on the bench, the canal and the boat...very very nice:)

Thanks Ella, Micki, Grainofsand and Dia!!
I assure you that you can enjoy Japan if you come to Japan.
i agree with all the other comments! ;)
... the architecture ... the dark waters ... the cyclist adding some activity to an otherwise static/still image
& it is a shame it cannot be seen in more detail! nevermind
& the question of whether you take your photos b&w or do you convert them?
I love your b&w shots, but i would like that they're larger to see more details in. Watching your blog is going on a trip for me. Thanks for sharing.

Wow this is one of the few pics in which your buildings and people don't appear as silhouettes. And i love it! Wonderful details in the shadows and wonderful sky too!
sawara・・・どこでしょう?!
以前千葉県民だったのですが、こんなステキな所は知りません・・・
行ってきます(笑)。

時間のゆるさが感じられて好きです。

although your photos are very beautiful but I also think that they are quite small
ぺろさん、mariさん、ありがとうございます!
これは千葉県佐原市で撮った写真になります。この町は利根川の水運で栄えた町のようで、伊能忠敬の居宅跡があったりと昔の町並みが残っています。
Thanks Roberman and Ali!!
Umm....
This size is the limit....
Very nicely composed. Like it.
Thanks Geof!!

Such lovely architecture here. I love being able to see how things are from all over. A beautiful photo.
This is beautiful. the river and the houses. gives it a quaint feel!
Do you take pictures in B&W or do you convert them to grey ?

beautifl sky, great achitecture and nice composition...lovely bw photo:-)
Thanks Pixibition!
You seem to prefer the upright portrait format. It would not have been an obvious choice for this subject for most of us. It works rather well.
Thanks Keith!
Umm. You are right. I chose the upright format unconsciously. :-)
Oh, I like the rich black water and mystery blackness that guards what may inside the houses.
Beautiful.. The reflection in the water is nice..
Thnkas Johnh and Samcam!

Excellent composition. I like the inclusion of the cyclist, as it gives a nice sense of scale to the photo.

As you say, my photo often contains shadows and silhouettes indeed....
The photo is sheer poetry. Your photos tend to make me see things in a different perspective. It's really amazing.
You do a good job of making ordinary scenes look like art.
