I keep telling myself its too grey to go out shooting, then shots like this prove me wrong

> Ashish Sidapara said : Feb 16, 2006 23:56

I think this shot is very relaxing. Nice one ;-)

> tetsu said : Feb 17, 2006 00:35

AZUKIさん、ありがとうございます!
窓ですね!
結構窓というものに惹かれてしまいます。何故でしょう。自分でも分かりません...。

Thanks Gary and Ashish!
It was very very cold day. I summoned up my courage to go out. :-P

This is a great shot. The shape and form is able to give the viewer the impression they are there. The woman in with the umbrella is perfect.

> tetsu said : Feb 17, 2006 01:03

Thanks Ken!
It is worthwhile to endure cold if people see this photo like you. :-)

It looks like you have a lot of fans who use asian or other fonts. So bad that I cannot understand what they wrote...

Very good shot with a nostalgic feeling. I like it very much ! :)

> tetsu said : Feb 17, 2006 01:39

Thanks Hervé!
Mmm. All of fonts which you can not read are Japanese, I guess. I like nostalgic feelings made by B&W films. :-)

> mw said : Feb 17, 2006 02:49

excellent use of depth of field. I love the single person way in the distance. Also, the shadows are incredible. They provide a nice softer image. This is really amazing.

> tobias said : Feb 17, 2006 02:52

I like the composition, lines and colour. Excellent light tetsu and thanks for the offer, may take you up on it one day...

> Otto K said : Feb 17, 2006 03:30

Terrific shot. The perspective and B&W tones are great.

> Rusty said : Feb 17, 2006 05:14

I like this one. Winter's bleakness is captured here.

> alex said : Feb 17, 2006 07:35

Amazing shot tetsu. The snow in black and white show all his magic side.

> Gavin said : Feb 17, 2006 07:49

Wonderful lines right into the center of this shot. The person walking along them really adds alot to this.

> PlasticTV said : Feb 17, 2006 11:46

You mean Takadanobaba / Tokyo, of course. :) i love the two trodden paths down the snow. And the person in umbrella completes the picture. Well done!

> tetsu said : Feb 17, 2006 13:11

Thanks MW, Tobias, Otto K, Rusty, Alex, Gavin and PlasticTV!

Beautiful photograph. The image draws you in... to a past and melancholy time...

Thanks Michael!

Simply perfect composition!!

Great one again Tetsu,......I ove the way you crank the contrast up so that we are not bogged down with detail....just beautiful contrast and shapes.

Thanks Michael and Phil!

> Patrick Cavan Brown said : Feb 20, 2006 04:37

what is it about umbrellas that make such an interesting image possible...is it in the idea of a hidden, sheltered subject...the anonymity?

> tetsu said : Feb 20, 2006 12:27

Thanks Patrick!
I like making people anonymity. :-)

> MikesRightBrain said : Feb 22, 2006 18:31

I like what you did to soften the shot. Very serene.

> tetsu said : Feb 22, 2006 19:17

Thanks Mike!

> Nate said : Feb 26, 2006 02:51

Hey Tetsu, thanks for all the nice comments on my site. This image of yours really struck me; the softness the snow creates (I assume you just used a shallow DOF, rather than PS blurring?), the way the lines in the snow set up the composition. Beautiful shot.

> tetsu said : Feb 26, 2006 06:04

Thanks Nate!
You are right. I used a shallow DOF.
