Reminds me of the famous Micheal Jackson song "Man in the mirror". Nice one.

> Ahamed said : Feb 17, 2006 16:47

One of your better photos (and you have a lot of good ones). The balance of the reflections is excellent.

> jlc said : Feb 17, 2006 16:55

...
perfect !

> Francesco said : Feb 17, 2006 22:28

Great shot! (as usual :-) )

> DeeJay said : Feb 17, 2006 23:13

This wonderful photograph contains a lot of "mood."

> jj said : Feb 17, 2006 23:56

ややや!とってもいいですね。

> PlasticTV said : Feb 18, 2006 00:24

Wow i love the reflection in the puddle. Your street photography bears the mark of Henri Cartier-Bresson!

> jeremy wallace said : Feb 18, 2006 00:27

lovely, classic black and white photography.

> roberman said : Feb 18, 2006 00:35

Nice BW, fine reflecctions!

> armeen said : Feb 18, 2006 00:45

the reflections in here are wonderful, i feel the photo is a bit too dark though.

> tetsu said : Feb 18, 2006 03:16

Thanks Ashish, Ahamed, JLC, Francesco, DeeJay, PlasticTV, Jeremy, Roberman, Armeen!
I am glad to be said 'bears the mark of Henri Cartier-Bresson!' by PlasticTV. My trigger to be interested in photography is Henri Cartier-Bresson. I hope I can take photos like him someday.

jjさん、ありがとうございます!
寒い中、わざわざ新宿まで出て写真を撮った甲斐があります。

> Gary said : Feb 18, 2006 05:14

good for being out in the rain, well worth it

> Joanna said : Feb 18, 2006 05:52

good shot!!

> Tuffer said : Feb 18, 2006 06:17

Very reminsent of the early 20th century street photgraphers (HCB, Kertesz, etc.) who took ordinary scenes and applied great composition and good printing (though, obviously here "printing" is a whole new ball game!).

> tetsu said : Feb 18, 2006 10:05

Thanks Gary, Joanna and Tuffer!
I am hankering the early 20th street photographers, especially Henri Cartier-Bresson. :-)

> cool daddio said : Feb 18, 2006 11:49

Well done. The high contrast and overall dark tone add very much to the rainy day feel.

> tetsu said : Feb 18, 2006 11:52

Thanks Cool Daddio!

> aaron said : Feb 18, 2006 16:33

Awesome shoe! I love the foreground, perfect framing job!

> hodari said : Feb 18, 2006 22:57

Awesome!A perfect shot, I love the contrast.

> tetsu said : Feb 19, 2006 00:55

Thanks Aaron and Hodari!

> katherine said : Feb 19, 2006 01:04

yes, you do remind me of cartier-bresson, but there's a bit of paul strand there too. c-b seemed more interested in the people he photographed; strand cared more about the patterns people made (shadows, etc).
there's some of both, and a good deal more that doesn't remind me of anybody; it seems to be just you. you're blog is wonderful. i'll be back often.

> mar00ned said : Feb 19, 2006 01:18

This is a fantastic shot. The shades and the reflections work very well.

> Jérome said : Feb 19, 2006 03:05

Wow, i like the mood!

> Otto K said : Feb 19, 2006 05:23

Terrific shot. The B&W tones and reflections work very well.

> [t e r r o r k i t t e n] said : Feb 19, 2006 06:40

I love the way that the contrast distracts the eye from the detail and makes you concentrate more on the form and shape...nice one Tetsu.

Very nice reflections.

Thanks Michael!

> Chris said : Feb 20, 2006 02:25

Great vantage point for this. It looks great.

> sknop said : Feb 20, 2006 03:35

This image has a timeless quality.

Have you considered posting your pictures in a larger resolution - I'd love to see some more detail - and giving your template a dark(er) background? It would certainly enhance your pictures as they are almost completely in B&W and prominently feature dark areas.

> tetsu said : Feb 20, 2006 04:19

Thanks Chris and Sknop!
Umm. I have been said so many times to make photos bigger. I am thinking that making photos much bigger the stain become also much bigger... And I like this blue and white color combination. I will change to dark background when I am tired this template.

> emma said : Feb 20, 2006 07:23

nice one tetsu - makes me realise there is no excuse for not taking photos in the rain - this is great!!

> siri said : Feb 20, 2006 07:32

Another 5 stars. It could be a picture from a independent movie!

> tetsu said : Feb 20, 2006 12:24

Thanks Emma and Siri!

> Alicia said : Feb 21, 2006 03:54

Great reflections! The title is quite apt. The whole image looks classy with the dark outfits and the umbrellas.

> tetsu said : Feb 21, 2006 15:55

Thanks Alicia!

Thanks Hans!

> MikesRightBrain said : Feb 22, 2006 18:30

Tetsu this is an AMAZING shot. The wet ground is like a mirror, and the figures that are reflected are more clear than those not reflected. Just beautiful. one of my favorites from your site so far.

> tetsu said : Feb 22, 2006 19:16

Thanks a lot, Mike!!

> Marcelo Vilares said : Feb 23, 2006 09:44

The reflections add beautifully to the image. Also the fact that the man's face is hidden behind the umbrella adds a bit of mystery which adds interest. Great photo!

> Mohammed Adenwala said : Feb 23, 2006 10:44

Cool, love the reflections!

> tetsu said : Feb 23, 2006 22:25

Thanks Marcelo!
I think it is unnecessary to specify the person.

Thanks Mohammed!

Une photo que Cartier-Bresson n'aurait pas dédaigné. Ce qui est pour moi un compliment "ultime"...
remenber "Cartier-Bresson" the French photographer. This picture is exelent : lights, mouvment, athmosphere...

> tetsu said : Feb 26, 2006 06:08

Thanks Pierre!
I know "Cartier-Bresson" and love his works. :-)

> Rob said : Feb 27, 2006 17:05

This is the kind of photography I really like. And I like autumn in Holland: so many umbrellas to see!

> tetsu said : Feb 27, 2006 19:56

Thanks Rob!
There are also many tulips in Holland, aren't there?

> Ellika said : Feb 28, 2006 05:15

I did'nt want to post a comment to this picture because it was posted 15 days ago and maybe you will not read this, however, is a beautiful black and white. I love the black tones from the water and the people in this picture.

Thanks Istoica!

> Clayton said : Mar 22, 2006 23:24

This is image is great! The balance between shapes, tones, and space works very well.

One suggestion, if I were processing, I would try to lighten the umbrella to make it pop out a bit more.

> tetsu said : Mar 23, 2006 00:07

Thanks Clayton!!
Umm. It may be better to do as your advise. :-)

> Bruno Gonçalves said : Apr 4, 2006 06:13
