The kid was playing around the garden
The site of this park belonged to a powerful feudal lord, Meada. His residences are preserved and it is open to the public as a park.
It is the same now as it was back then that the house of the wealthy people is vast. And the garden is spacious. Some kids were running around there. The space was an ample space to bat around. If they played hide-and-seek there, someone could keep hiding until the dusk.
