Nice shot! Is it a mask?

> tetsu said : Jan 18, 2006 01:24

Thanks Mats!
Yes. It is a mask. Dance with the mask was made for the celebration for a new year.

Awesome picture...it looks like the ballons are attached to the mask...or is it??

This is a nice photo and works great as a black & white. The photo contrast also works very well.

I got kind of a creepy feeling from this photo initially as I saw the balloon strings as puppet strings and the mask as some monstrous marionette. Good work.

Nice photo - like always. This one is a bit scary! Cheers.

This lion mask is similar with the one I usually see in a Chinese New Year. And was the balloons attached to the lion or was just in the background?

> tetsu said : Jan 18, 2006 12:24

Thanks Mohammed, Paul, Armadillo44, David and Eric!
The mask was introduced from China, I guess. And balloons were not attached... The man with balloons in his hands was just in the background of the mask.

Thanks Siri!

I really enjoy the reflective surface of the mask in comparrison to the hair and the thin strings of the balloons.
What equipment do you use?
Regards, G

I would not have ever thought of traditional Japon as black and white. Color are so beautiful and important. And though, your photos are amazing! Congratulations.
