When I visited Yushima Tenjin Shrine in Yushima, Tokyo, the Chrysanthemum Festival was just underway. There were many chrysanthemum flowers and chrysanthemum dolls on display in the precincts. A chrysanthemum doll is a doll dressed in a costume decorated with chrysanthemum flowers. It's a custom that has continued since the Edo period, but I'm not really attracted to it. The doll's costume is decorated with chrysanthemums, but the face is just a doll. I would rather see only chrysanthemum flowers on display than such a doll.

As I moved the lens closer, the viewfinder was filled with chrysanthemum flowers. As I stared at the densely packed flowers, I had the illusion that they were moving.
