The Chrysanthemum Throne was depict on hanging lanterns in Meiji Jingu
The square in front of the hall of worship at Meiji Shrine is surrounded by a wooden corridor. There are a lot of people in the middle of the hall of worship and the square, but not many come to the end of the corridor. The corridor is a good place to get away from the other visitors and look at the temple grounds.
The cloister is lined with hanging lanterns. As the name implies, this shrine honors Emperor Meiji and Empress Shoken, so the hanging lanterns are all decorated with a chrysanthemum emblem. When I pointed my camera at the hanging lanterns, I saw a boy walking on the other side of the lanterns.
