The sun was setting, and I felt the first hint of nightfall
As I walked around the former Shinagawa-juku, one of the fifty-three stations of the Tokaido, dusk was fast approaching. The shadows here and there were gradually getting longer. And the longer shadows were closing in on the walls of the house. I could feel that the nightfall was just around the corner.
However, the power of civilization is a frightening thing, and even when the sun goes down, the darkness does not cover the entire city. The city would not be enveloped in darkness. You can feel it coming closer and closer, but you never see it. It's like an urban legend. As long as I am in the heart of Tokyo, it is difficult for me to experience the word "nightfall".
