About this photo

Shot in Okadera, a Buddhist temple in Asuka, Nara. Beyond the maple leaves , a wooden three-storied stupa is seen. These kind of architecture was built for containing the Buddha's ashes. Yet there are many stupa in the world. If all of them contained the ashes, Buddha had got to be a giant of a man. This stupa doesn't contain the ashes. At any rate, this stupa is not so old. Although this temple has a long history, the stupa in the photo was rebuilt in 1986.
